Our mission is to provide quality affordable housing where our residents, all of whom are 62 years of age or older, can live a quality life in a community that values them and their dignity over income.
Is Roseville Housing Trust a 501c3?
Roseville Housing Trust of San Antonio is a 501(c)(4) organization formed by Alpha Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® to provide affordable housing to senior citizens. Roseville Housing Trust, operates on behalf of its beneficiary, Alpha Tau Omega Chapter, has its own governing board comprised of nine trustees, and employs a management company to handle the day-to-day operations of the apartment complex.
How did Roseville Housing Trust originate?
Roseville Housing Trust was inspired by the commitment of Alpha Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, to advocate for the elderly. The idea for the apartment community was proposed in 1966 and came to fruition with the help of HUD funding in 1970.
How does Roseville Housing Trust ensure affordability for its residents?
Under the trust's supervision, our management company works with federal and local housing programs that ensures all qualifying residents can take advantage of subsidies. Roseville residents pay significantly less than 30% of their income for rent. Additionally, all rents collected are used to enhance our residents’ daily lives and living conditions.
